shimao
Studied at Parsons School of Design before graduating from Musashino Art University’s Department of Visual Communication Design. After working for an automotive parts manufacturer, shimao is now based in Nagoya.
Her work focuses on capturing the energy she senses in her subjects and translating their atmosphere through painting. For this exhibition, shimao explores the theme of her beloved dog, whom she began living with this year.

Parsons School of Designを２年次終了後、
武蔵野美術大学視覚伝達デザイン学科に３年次編入し、卒業。
車部品メーカーでの勤務等を経て、現在名古屋を拠点に活動中。
被写体から感じ取るエネルギーを筆にのせ、その空気感を表現することを大事にしている。
今回の展示は、今年飼い始めた「犬」をテーマにした。
日々色々悩んだり、様々なニュースを目の当たりにする中で、
今を生きることを精一杯している愛犬がとても愛おしく、癒され、色々教えてくれる。
